Quartz is a man-made stone that is extremely desired by homeowners, architects, and designers. Below, we discuss the pros and cons and the applications of this stone.

Pros: Quartz is a man-made stone that is heat, scratch, stain, and chemical resistant. Quartz is also nonporous, comes in a variety of colors and patterns, and requires little maintenance. These characteristics make Quartz an excellent choice for countertops.

Cons: Quartz is a manufactured stone, and therefore, it is difficult to mimic the appearance of natural stone, such as granite and marble. Additionally, Quartz is not recommended for outdoor applications, since the resin will become discolored when exposed to sunlight.

Common Applications:

• Kitchen Countertops

• Kitchen Islands

• Backsplashes

• Fireplace Surrounds

• Bathroom Countertops
